Fire Extinguisher Cabinet

What type of glass is required for "Break Glass in Case of Emergency" cabinets that typically house fire extinguishers, axes or pull stations?

The type of glass used is typically a thin acrylic plastic. Easy to break without slivers of glass causing cuts.
