The air bags present a serious hazard and can be as dangerous as the accident when they deploy. If you have pets in your car, be sure that they are secured as well. In many cases, an extended conversation keeps your attention elsewhere. You must look away when dialing or hanging up your phone, and you will lose your mobility if you don't use a headset to talk and try to juggle your phone and you're driving at the same time. If your phone rings, answer it if you must but return the call later when you are no longer in motion. Eating while driving is something that is sometimes necessary, but doing so with a full meal, or with fast food is hazardous. If you must eat while you drive do eat something that is not greasy and may permit your hands to slip from the wheel, and use finger foods such as fruit or crackers that will be small enough to not require your attention to handle while you drive.
